Terragen is a freeware scenery generator program for PC & Mac. It makes remarkable photo-realistic landscape images and animations. You can download the free version here. Its extremely time consuming and really fun to fool around with. There are several galleries around showcasing the outcome of Terragen – a good start might be Planetside’s own showcase gallery.

Below shows a testrender I did – splitscreen with the preview-view inside the program (Original render here), below the  GUI of Terragen. Bottom image show the great photo-realistic possibilities (Image created by Saurav Subedi).
